Reflect, Restore, Renew:

A Leadership Retreat for a Better World

(because you deserve better than burnout)

you are trash.

Ok, ok… you are not trash. Sorry…
but, let’s be honest you are trashed.

You’re tired.
You’re stressed.
You’re stuck in an endless loop of putting out fires and solving the same problems over and over.
Doing good in the world has worn you down, and you’re running on empty.

But here’s the thing:

you can’t pour from an empty cup.

Leaders who don’t take care of themselves are not selfless — they’re foolish. The only thing they give their teams is their garbage.

Sound familiar?

You know you’re on a mission for a better world, but your “best self” feels like a distant memory. If you’re ready to press pause, get unstuck, and reignite that fire, then this retreat is for you.

What if you gave yourself the gift of time?
Better yet, what if you could infuse the leadership genius of 4 other badass leaders into your brain and soul for an epic mind/soul meld like Spock in that scene in Star Trek II?  What if you gave your team the gift of your best self — the one that’s rested, renewed, and ready to lead?

Join us for four days and three nights on the shore of Lake Superior and in the heart of Michigan’s Porcupine Mountains. A remote cabin in the woods, with zero distractions (no phone, no electricity, no BS). You’ll join a small group of mission-driven leaders for a transformative experience that will leave you rejuvenated and ready to tackle what’s next.

Because you are not trash.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • A 2-mile hike into the woods (don't worry, you'll only carry your clothes, a sleeping bag, a touch of gear, and a journal).

  • 1:1 leadership coaching with Ryan Maxwell, a pro who’s been in the social good game since the late '90s

  • Journal prompts and personal reflection to uncover where you’re stuck and how to get free

  • Group challenges and walk-and-talks with kick ass leaders along the forest trails or lakeshore

  • Siesta time to rest, reflect, and re-center yourself - because rest is real.

  • Evening bonfires with the crew and conversations to dig deep into your personal journey and the world-changing work you’re doing

  • Meals that fuel your soul (we’ve got the food covered, you just show up hungry)

This is more than a retreat. It’s a reset. A time to reconnect with the leader you were and get back in the game as the leader you need to be.

No cell service. No distractions. No excuses.

Just you, your journal, and 7 other badass leaders ready to lift each other up and get the work done — the right way.

your facilitator: Ryan Maxwell

Ryan’s been in the social good sector for decades — from teaching in Oakland to founding a school in Chicago to leading national non-profits. He’s a former camp counselor, so expect a blend of leadership wisdom with some good old-fashioned campfire magic. Ryan’s also the host of the “Exceptionally Good Podcast,” where he talks to some of the world’s best leaders about how they’re changing the world (and what they’ve learned the hard way).

Are you ready to get over yourself?
The world needs your best self, and that starts with taking care of you. Join us in the woods for a leadership reset that will renew your spirit, refresh your mind, and restore your energy.
